Alfa Romeo 1600 Duetto - 1967

At the Geneva Motor Show in 1966, Alfa Romeo presented the 1600 Spider for the first time. Based on the chassis and technique of the Giulia 105 and with a body designed by Pininfarina. The last design that master Battista Pininfarina himself was involved with and which he himself thought was the most beautiful.

After signing a contest, the winner, Mr. Guidobaldi Trionfi from Brescia, came up with the name and got a brand new car as a prize. The Spider received the official name Duetto, but soon the name was dropped due to brandtechnical reasons. The design with the round back, which the Italians called "Osso di Seppia", is for many the purest and most desirable one. When the car appeared in the movie "The Graduate", with a young Dustin Hoffman behind the wheel, the tone for the sporty image of the Duetto had been set.

This Duetto is restored a couple of years ago and is still in a very good condition. The Alfa has very tight bodywork and is rustfree just as the solid and stainless underside. In a stylish colourcombination "Bianco Farina" with black interior. The chrome is in beautifull condition. The leather seats and the black linnen sofftop with tonneau cover, are like new. It features the original 1.570 cc twincam engine with dual Weber carburettors for 109 hp, equipped with disc brakes and a smooth shifting gearbox. Together with the original 15"steel wheels makes this a very good and original car. Production ended with only 6.431 examples of the 1600 version, which makes it a relatively rare and sought after car.
