Honda S800 *Original* - 1968
In 1965 the Honda S800 was first presented at the Tokyo Motorshow as the successor to the successful S600 and belonged to the first generation of Honda sports cars. A special feature of the model was the advanced Japanese technique, which gave the car the title of fastest production car with an engine capacity of up to 1000cc.
In addition to the attractive design, everything revolves around the technology of these cars. The high-speed four-cylinder engine of 791cc delivered 70hp at 8,500 rpm and, according to the factory, was even able to get a dizzying 10,000 rpm! Unique for that time. The Honda S800 has a phenomenal good road handling, driving it gives you the feeling that every piece of road becomes a circuit. A Japanese historical masterpiece!
This beautifull and very authentic Honda sportscar is, except for an older repaint, completely original and never restored! The last owner was a former Dutch Honda dealer, who had the car in his possesion for the last 39 (!) years. He cherised the Honda and maintaned it very precisely. The engine is the original one and thus matching number. Kept it always garage stored and used it regularly in dry weather. The body is truly sublime original with correct panelfittings. The seats and interior are still original (!) and show a wonderfull patina. The dashboard, gauges and the original 'wooden' steeringwheel are also in a very good condition. The Honda is equipped with a period correct radio system. Together with a black soft top, tonneau cover, 13"steel wheels and hubcaps makes this a highly original example. In an atrractive color scheme: Japanese racing white with black upholstery. With an estimated total of 11.500 cabriolets and coupe's built (less cabriolets than coupe's were built), makes this highly original Honda sportscar a musthave for the true enthousiasts.
Comes with the original spare, jack, history, ownersmanual, and a rare optional winddeflector.
A 100% Authentic Honda s800 cabriolet in a beautifull and good condition like this one, is very rare. So, a true collector's item!
