Volvo P1800 -1964
Introduced in 1961 the Volvo P1800 combines sporty, elegant, Italian design from Frua with solid reliable Swedish technology.
This is a very magnificent example of Swedish great looking sportscar. Early type P1800 of the Swedish production also reffered as to "S". Our P1800 has been delivered in 1964 in Orange - California to it's new owner. The new owner chose the colour black (19) with red upholstery, a very rare and beautifull coulourscheme, now and in those days! With interesting history and maintainance records are present of the beginning.
The P1800 has been restored in the past and is still in a beautifull condition while maintaining it's unique originality. All details belonging to this modelyear are present, like: solid steel rims with big chrome hubcaps, the cowhorn-style bumpers, and the curved side trim which emphasizes the original design. The body is in very tight and rust-free condition, also the undercarriage is original, unwelded and rust-free! Beautiful paint with perfect doorfittings and nice chrome quality. Inside the car everything breathes a 60's atmosphere, with red carpets and red leatherette sportseats, last but not least the beautifull aluminium GT dashboard with the two spoke sport steer.
The B18 engine with double carburettors performs very well. And the car drives, shifts and brakes very good as it should. Together with the four gear transmission with electrical overdrive ensures very respectable highway performance.
The car is complete with original: spare, jack, wheeltool and manual.
